If you have patio furniture you need outdoor chair covers in order to make the furniture last longer and look better. There is nothing better than sitting outside in your garden enjoying nature at its best but the experience can be ruined if the seat is uncomfortable due to warping or other weather related damage.

Where do you find stylish outdoor chair covers?

Thankfully the days when outdoor chair covers resembled bin bags have gone. You can still find relatively cheap green waterproof outdoor slip covers which are easy to put onto the furniture and will keep them clean and protected. People tend to like these outdoor chair slipcovers as they are so easy to use and store when not required. But if you fancy something a little more stylish there are plenty of different brands of patio chair covers to choose from. You can find them on Amazon or in your local Home Depot or Walmart.

If you have had your patio furniture custom made it may not be a standard size so you may struggle to find outdoor chair covers that fit correctly. You may have to have some custom made but this is not a bad idea. Although more expensive than shop bought slipcovers, they will cost a fraction of what you paid for the furniture so are well worth it. They also have the benefit of coming with Velcro or zip fastenings which should offer more protection than those covers that just slip over the furniture.

You can buy sets of matching chair covers or individual ones. If you have invested in a few extra chairs you can just buy some single outdoor chair covers to protect them. Don’t forget to buy a patio umbrella cover as well as you do not want this item to be covered in mold and mildew the next time you want to use it to protect yourself against the sun’s rays.

Outdoor chair pads

Outdoor chair pads are used to make sitting on the garden furniture a more comfortable experience. While wicker furniture looks fantastic and is very elegant it can become quite uncomfortable to sit on if you are sitting for long periods of time. Padded outdoor chair pads are an excellent investment not only for comfort but they are also easy to remove, clean and replace. This means you do not have to clean your wicker garden furniture as often which is good news as it can be a difficult job. Instead you can just vacuum the furniture to keep the dust at bay and wash the covers in the machine every so often.
Using outdoor chair covers and pads can also give your garden or patio a new look. If you fancy something different, why not invest in an extra set of chair pads so that you can change the look whenever you feel like it. This also means that you can sit in comfort when the other cushion covers are in the wash.

Regardless of what type of outdoor chair covers you choose to buy don’t just put them on your patio furniture and leave it out in all sorts of weather. If you get a severe weather warning it is best to move the furniture into a garage or other enclosed space if possible. If you don’t have room in your backyard you may want to consider renting some storage space if the items were expensive. Snow and sleet not to mention heavy rain can damage some items beyond repair so paying for a lock up for a month or so may prove a lot cheaper than having to replace the original furniture.
